Veracity Stew: Homophobic GOP Lawmaker Kicked Out of Restaurant

-By Steve

January 31, 2012- Tennessee Republican State Senator Stacey Campfield, who proposed the “Don’t Say Gay” law last year, recently gave an interview where he blamed “one guy screwing a monkey” for the spread of HIV/AIDS. As a result of his ignorant and hateful comments, Sen. Campfield is learning what discrimination truly feels like, after he was asked by the owner of Knoxville’s The Bistro at Bijou to leave her restaurant.

Martha Boggs, owner of the restaurant, posted on the eatery’s Facebook page:

“I hope that Stacy (sic) Campfield now knows what it feels like to be unfairly discriminated against.”

According to Metropulse, Boggs explained her actions in an interview:

“I didn’t want his hate in my restaurant. I told him he wasn’t welcome here. … I feel like he’s gone from being stupid to being dangerous, and I wanted to stand up to him.”

Boggs was apparently upset by Campfield’s interview last week with Michelangelo Signorile’s radio program on SiriusXM OutQ, where the senator compalined about the media’s alleged “glorification” of homosexuals…
