WBIR (NBC): West TN man loses handgun carry permit after making video threats
January 11, 2013- A West Tennessee man can no longer legally carry a a handgun, after he made threatening posts on the internet site YouTube.
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced Friday that they had suspended James Yeager's handgun carry permit.
Yeager, 42, of Camden, posted videos claiming he would "start killing people" if the Obama administration took executive action to pass gun control measures.
"The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public's safety. Mr. Yeager's comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail," Commissioner Bill Gibbons said.

January 11, 2013- “We have a plan: We’re going to go to the houses of local cops and burn the houses down with the cops and their families inside,” Schaeffer Cox reportedly said in August 2010, months before he would be arrested for plotting to kidnap and kill federal officials — and just a few years before he would be convicted and sentenced to almost 26 years in prison.
Cox’s sentence came down earlier this week, as part of the trial of Alaska Peacemaker Militia members, a right-wing group that was plotting to stockpile illegal weapons and take violent action against the government.

January 7, 2013- Derek Shrout, 17, will appear in court Monday for allegedly planning to bomb his high school, the Ledger-Enquirer reports. Authorities at the county jail where Shrout is being held say he has admitted to being a white supremacist.
According to the county sheriff, Shrout was arrested after a teacher found plans to bomb the school in Shrout's journal, which he had left behind in a classroom, and authorities found preparations for homemade bombs in his home.
Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said Sunday a search of Shrout's home Friday found about a couple dozen small tobacco cans and two large cans, all with holes drilled in them and containing pellets...
