January 22, 2013- Rocker-turned-gun rights provocateur Ted Nugent is willing to say just about anything to attack President Barack Obama and his administration for what he believes is an imminent effort by the government to snatch up guns. During a recent interview, Nugent again raised the bar, invoking a Revolutionary war milestone to suggest that he and his "buddies" were prepared to fight such an effort at all costs.

"I'm part of a very great experiment in self-government where we the people determine our own pursuit of happiness and our own individual freedom and liberty, not to be confused with the Barack Obama gang who believes in we the sheeple and actually is attempting to re-implement the tyranny of King George that we escaped from in 1776," Nugent said in a recent interview with Guns.com at the NBC-sponsored Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show. "And if you want another Concord Bridge, I got some buddies."

January 19, 2013- A report published by the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point Military Academy on Jan. 15 discusses the potential dangers of “violent far-right” organizations, which has angered some conservatives that believe the military should focus on international threats.

The executive summary of the paper, “Challengers from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right,” claims that “since 2007, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of attacks and violent plots originating from individuals and groups who self- identify with the far-right of American politics.”

Janaury 15, 2013- “I don’t know what to do,” sighed Gene Rosen. “I’m getting hang-up calls, I’m getting some calls, I’m getting emails with, not direct threats, but accusations that I’m lying, that I’m a crisis actor, ‘how much am I being paid?’” Someone posted a photo of his house online. There have been phony Google+ and YouTube accounts created in his name, messages on white supremacist message boards ridiculing the “emotional Jewish guy,” and dozens of blog posts and videos “exposing” him as a fraud. One email purporting to be a business inquiry taunted: “How are all those little students doing? You know, the ones that showed up at your house after the ‘shooting’. What is the going rate for getting involved in a gov’t sponsored hoax anyway?”

“The quantity of the material is overwhelming,” he said. So much so that a friend shields him from most of it by doing daily sweeps of the Web so Rosen doesn’t have to. His wife is worried for their safety. He’s logged every email and every call, and consulted with a retired state police officer, who took the complaint seriously but said police probably can’t do anything at the moment; he plans to do the same with the FBI.

January 14, 2013- President Barack Obama on Monday explained that pro-gun groups were “ginning up fear” about the government confiscating firearms because “it obviously is good for business.”

Last week, conservatives responded with outrage after Vice President Joe Biden suggested that Obama could take executive action for minor gun control measures.

Although executive orders are only able to enforce existing laws, radio host Rush Limbaugh warned that such action “could only be to take guns” and the Drudge Report ran photos comparing the president to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.

January 13, 2013- Melissa Harris-Perry and her guests on Sunday discussed whether the best answer to gun violence is ending the “War on Drugs.”

About 800 people die every year as a result of gang violence, Harris-Perry said, “a large percentage of which are connected to drug trafficking.”

When it comes to gun violence, “maybe ending the War on Drugs is the best gun control measure we can enact,” as many violent gangs would no longer have a lucrative business in prohibited substances.

Michael Skolnik, political advisor for Russell Simmons, claims that President Obama has “taken steps” to end the drug war.
