GOOD: The 10 Most Wildly Racist Things from This Anti-Muslim Protest (Which a U.S. Congressman Attended)

March 3, 2011- A recent Orange County charity fundraiser sponsored by the Islamic Circle of North America turned into an outright day of hate when right-wing activist group "We Surround Them OC 912" came out to protest the function. What they called "protest," however, most normal people would call "screaming racial epithets and death threats at Muslim families, many of which contained young children."

Here, the 10 most egregious and frightening examples of the abusive language used in the video above. While reading through the list, remember that United States Congressman Gary Miller not only attended this event, but told the bigoted crowd, "I am proud of you. I am proud of what you are doing."

10. "U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!" (When shouted at other American citizens, as if their race makes them less American, "U.S.A." counts as racist.)

Tuscon Sentinel: Judge denies motion to bar release of Jan. 8 autopsies

March 3, 2011- A motion by prosecutors to bar the release of autopsy reports on the victims of the Jan. 8 mass shooting has been denied by U.S. District Judge Larry Burns.

The ruling, issued Wednesday and filed Thursday morning, does not mean the autopsies will necessarily be released, the judge wrote.

"The government’s motion presumes that the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office is either poised to release them voluntarily or legally obligated to do so. The Court has no proof of this," Burns wrote.

Defense attorneys for Jared Lee Loughner had concurred with the motion, filed Monday, to bar the release of the autopsies.

MSNBC: Giffords making more progress, singing ‘American Pie’

'Gabby likes to reach out and hold my hand and she listens carefully and smiles easily,' rabbi who visits regularly tells Houston TV station

March 3, 2011- Gabrielle Giffords has been singing "American Pie," eating chicken soup and "is making the kind of progress that all of us would anticipate" after being shot in the head in January, according to a rabbi who has been visiting the congresswoman regularly.

Rabbi David Lyon, of Congregation Beth Israel in southwest Houston, has been visiting Giffords about three times a week as she recovers in the TIRR Memorial Hermann hospital, Houston TV station KHOU, a CBS affiliate, reported.

He told the station she had recently sung "American Pie" with her longtime friend Rabbi Stephanie Aaron.

Salon: This is what anti-Muslim hate looks like

Shocking video of a protest of an Islamic fundraising event in Orange County

March 3, 2011- A protest of a Muslim fundraising event in Orange County last month devolved into chants of "Muhammed was a pervert," "you beat your wife and rape your children," and the like, according to a new video of the demonstration (see below).

The Feb. 13 Islamic Circle of North America event aimed to raise money to fund women's shelters and fight homelessness in the area. But attention was drawn to the event because of two controversial speakers, Siraj Wahhaj and Abdel Malik Ali. The Orange County Register reported:

Wahhaj is an imam at a mosque in Brooklyn. A U.S. attorney named him and 169 others as co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Wahhaj was never charged and has denied involvement.

OpGlennBeck: Press Release From Anonymous

February 27, 2011- People of America we have heard your cries against the hate mongering and violent rhetoric of Glenn Beck and we stand with you.

No longer will we tolerate his incessant conspiracy theories intended only to incite hate and violence in the uneducated. No longer will we sit idly by while he promotes racism, bigotry and xenophobia. No more will we be silent while he fends for the RichFags under the disguise of patriotism while pandering his books and the wares of his advertisers.

Media Matters: Wisconsin Radio Station Explains Why It Dropped Beck's "Unacceptable" Show

February 25, 2011- The Madison, Wisconsin, radio station that dropped Glenn Beck's program this week issued the following statement to Media Matters when asked why the decision was made:

WTDY can no longer carry the Glenn Beck program. Over the last 12 months, the show has devolved into plugs for Fox News (the radio version of which is aired by our direct competitor), his books, and other personal endorsements. The lack of actual content becomes more apparent daily. Monday's program was the final straw; his unabashed deriding of Madison is unacceptable for broadcast in our community.
