Daily Mail: Billionaire tears down $43.5m Hamptons house because he didn't have 'enough ocean views'

June 3, 2011- Who says the housing market is depressed?

Not hedge fund boss David Tepper, who just tore down his fabulous $43.5million oceanside home in Long Island's plush Hamptons.

Mr Tepper was allegedly irked that he couldn't see the ocean from every room of the sprawling 6,165 square foot estate, so he decided to build another one from the ground up, according to Curbed Hamptons.

The new home will reportedly be twice as large as the original.

Aerial photos of the home in the Sagaponack section of the Hamptons show the beach-front property has been scraped clean.

Mr Tepper, 53, reportedly bought the estate at 239 Gibson Ln in 2010 from Joanne Dougherty, the ex-wife of former New Jersey Governor and former U.S. Senator Jon Corzine, according to Southhampton Patch

The Sagaponack Village Building Department reportedly issued the demolition permit on April 29.

Mr Tepper reportedly earned more than $4billion in 2009 alone.
