Politico: Elizabeth Warren to keynote Wall Street reform summit

March 30, 2011- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is holding a summit on Wall Street reform Wednesday, featuring such titans of industry and government as Tom Donohue, Jamie Dimon — and Elizabeth Warren.

That’s right, the same Elizabeth Warren named by President Barack Obama to create a consumer protection bureau that the Chamber has long criticized will be giving a keynote address alongside Chamber President Donohue and JPMorgan Chase CEO Dimon.

The daylong meeting, scintillatingly titled “Ensuring Competitiveness in a Post-Regulatory Reform Environment,” takes a look at the new Dodd-Frank reform law through speeches and panel discussions.

The summit includes policymakers such as Warren and House Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) to explain how the overhaul will affect corporate America.

“Businesses across the country are wondering, ‘How does this work?’” said David Hirschmann, president of the Chamber’s Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness. “This is a chance for regulators to hear firsthand how businesses across the country feel about the proposals on the table.”
