October2011.Org: Bloomberg Threatens OWS Again; Warning on Police and Dem Party Infiltrators; the Status Quo is Threatened

Now that Occupys Are Having an Impact Watch Out for Infilitration By Police and Democratic Party Co-Opters

-By Kevin Zeeese

November 5, 2011- LUV News introduces an article by Danny Schecter with a warning about how the status quo powers are no doubt plotting their attack on the Occupy Movement.  We should be especially wary right now as we are affecting the debate.

The powers-that-be know that when the super committee recommends austerity for everyone but the wealthy and militarists that there will be large growth in the Occupy Movement.  They need to find a way to get rid of us now or see us grow.

In addition to the provocateurs that LUV News mentions, the Occupy Movement needs to be on the watch for Democratic Party front groups which are increasing their efforts to co-opt us.  This weekend many occupiers joined in an action against the Koch brothers that was organized by some of the most Democratic Party-affiliated non-profits; tomorrow many will support the Tar Sands protests.  Yes, we support these causes but be aware the groups leading these efforts are Democratic Party allies, i.e. allies of the corporate-government. Do not let the Occupy Movement be co-opted!

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: New Internet Blacklist Bill Could Shut Down Twitter And Youtube!

From DemandProgress.Org

A bit of an emergency: The rumor all over Capitol Hill is that the House version of the Internet Blacklist Bill will be introduced this week, probably on Wednesday.

Our allies on the Hill say the bill's so bad that it could effectively destroy Youtube, Twitter, and other sites that rely on user-generated content by making the sites' owners legally responsible for everything their users post.

Nobody will want to take that risk, so sites like Youtube and Twitter could be forced to shut down.

Facebook, Myspace, and Google+ would be at risk. The cyberlocker and streaming provisions could affect your iPhone, Android, AmazonCloud, Pandora, Grooveshark and even your email accounts.

It also includes provisions that would make it a felony to stream unlicensed content -- including cover band performances, karaoke videos, video game play-throughs, and more.

And all of this is being driven by a few major corporations who are trying to protect their private profits.

NSA Confirms That It Has Had Contracts With HBGary For At Least Five Years

The National Security Agency, in a letter to Velvet Revolution last week, confirmed that HBGary has had multiple contracts with it since at least 2006.  It provided several of those contracts to VR, but wants $1200 to search for all of the contracts.  HBGary was hired as part of Team Themis by the Chamber to infiltrate and destroy VR and its staff.  VR is consulting with attorneys about taking legal action against Team Themis, the Chamber and the Chamber’s attorneys, and is raising funds for that purpose.  Donations and legal help are welcome to assist with both of these.

Alliance for American Manufacturing: The China Job Drain

Posted by the Alliance for American Manufaturing on September 20, 2011-

The growth of the U.S. trade deficit with China since that country entered the World Trade Organization in 2001 has had a devastating effect on U.S. workers and the domestic economy. Between 2001 and 2010, 2.8 million U.S. jobs were lost or displaced. Using a new model, the study by the Economic Policy Institute reveals a first look at how the growing trade deficits cost jobs in every congressional district, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
