VR Demands REVOTE in FL-13--and Resignation Of Supervisor Of Elections Kathy Dent

Today Velvet Revolution is demanding the resignation of Kathy Dent, the Supervisor of Elections in FL-13, in Sarasota, Florida. That race, a week after the election, has still not been decided because of 18,000 ballots for Congress are missing from the non-paper ballot touchscreen machines. Kathy Dent vehemently opposed any paper ballots in the race prior to the election, and she denigrated the people asking for paper ballots.

There is a recount going on in FL-13 which we predict will show the same results from the election because the machines will only be spitting out the same garbage. This is why we have always insisted on paper ballots.

A complete re-vote on paper ballots is the only possible remedy for this situation.

If this were 2008 and the presidential election hinged on FL-13, the whole country would be up in arms insisting that nothing has changed since 2000. We can’t afford to have incompetents such as Kathy Dent making decisions and running elections. She has failed miserably and she should resign or be removed immediately.
